Living in London
Top 4 recreation spots in Bloomsbury
As a university student, studying must have constituted most of your time. However, learning to look after yourself, i.e. to relax and take breaks regularly albeit your busy schedule is also an important part of this journey. For students living in Passfield Hall and Carr-Saunders Hall, there are parks and markets in the area that might be a good spot for you to relax and recharge your energy.
Russell Square Garden
Russell Square Garden is 10 to 20 minutes walk from Passfield Hal and Carr-Saunders Hall. With 8 entrances directing to its central fountain, Russell Square Garden is perfect for longer garden walks. If you are interested in the history of Russell Family and its relation to urban development, it might then be a space worth exploring further!

Gordon Square Park
Comparing to Russell Square Park, Gordon Square Park is smaller and quieter. This park is owned by the University of London, and you can find the sculpture of Rabindranath Tagore (Indian poet, philosopher and Nobel Laureate) in there (GoParks.London, 2024). If you fancy some quiet reading time surrounding by bird singing, this would be one of the best options. There is also a little coffee shop if you need a hot drink in the winter time.

Brunswick Square Garden
Located next to Brunswick Square where you can find grocery stalls and shops, its garden sharing the same name is a little gem just opposite to Russell Square Station. If you want to appreciate "one of the ten Great Trees of London" of more than two hundred years-old, you need to visit the Brunswick Plane in there (Leafshade, 2020)!
