Living in London
Lilian Knowles House: Top Places around my Hall!
My hall, Lilian Knowles House, is located next to Spitalfields Market, five minutes' walk from Liverpool Street Station, a national railway station. The area is lively until the later hours of the night, with cute cafes, pubs, and restaurants of different cuisines. It is full of gardens and hidden areas that I have been lucky to explore in the past five months of living here as an international student’s first time in London.
📍 Food Trucks Inside Spitalfields Market
There are two places inside Spitalfields Market that I would recommend to every one who visits this area, Mr.Bombay and Sud Italia. Both entirely different cuisines but student-friendly and very filling. Mr.Bombay has multiple vegetarian and non-vegetarian options to choose from. The second food truck is Sud Italia which has an option for a wallet margherita pizza for only £5.
📍Brick Lane
Home to art, yummy food and vintage shops, this is your place to go to if you ever want to experience a place that feels like an entirely different country from London. Over the weekend, you will find a lot of flea markets. Brick Lane is the place to be if you want to see different murals and be in a place where creativity shines through different forms of art. Rich with history, you will see it in every corner.
📍 Leadenhall Market
Do you remember the scene in Harry Potter in Philosophers Stone where Hagrid takes Harry to Diagon Alley for the very first time? It was shot in Leadenhall Market. So, if you are a potterhead just like me, make sure to add it to the list of places to visit. Home to a diverse range of cuisines, it also is the place to be if you have fine taste in clothes and watches.
📍 Garden @120
With scenic views of London and picture perfect spots (literally), you will be mesmerized. There is seating available alongside greenery to help you sit back, relax and enjoy your own company (or your friends). It offers you a 360 degree view of London so when you are tired of all the traffic and want to escape in to the sky and the flights are to expensive, be sure to visit the space for some downtime.
