Incident Reporting

By echorley 25 Mar 2022

If something has happened and it has worried or concerned you, or if you have been told about something and you feel you need to report it, you have different ways of reporting within the University.

Examples of what you could be reporting include criminal behaviour, medical concerns, mental health concerns or suspicious activities.

If you are concerned that someone is in danger, at risk of harm, and needs immediate assistance, call University Security on 0114 222 4085 (0114 222 4444 in the case of an emergency - or 999). You can also use Safezone, the free app for students and staff which provides round-the-clock safety reassurance via your mobile phone. You can find out more information via https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/security/safezone

For any less urgent concerns, or if you’re not sure where to go next, you can speak to your Residence Life Mentor or attend the Residence Life Mentor Drop-in.

You can also arrange to speak to a Student Support and Wellbeing Officer at Residence Life via email at residentsupport@sheffield.ac.uk.

For more specific issues, such as hate crime, sexual violence, bullying, and harassment, you can report to the University (anonymously or with details) via Report and Support, more details about which can be found via  https://reportandsupport.sheffield.ac.uk/.
