How to... Access the Steinway Piano

Since March 2021, the University of Sheffield begins a prestigious partnership with Steinway & Sons. This demonstrates a full commitment to excellence for music education by gaining world-class status for pianos across the institution.

There will be pianos at The Ridge and The Edge for all University students to use, completely free. You will need to make a booking on our Eventbrite schedule to use the pianos.

Please remember your u-Card or you won't be able to access the room, as both The Edge and The Ridge doors can only be accessed via swiping your u-Card.



The Edge - IT Suite

The piano at the Edge is based upstairs, in the IT Suite. Please access via the Edge Customer Services and take the stairs, and at the top go through the double doors in front of you and the IT Suite is there on the left.

The Ridge 

The piano at the Ridge is based upstairs, opposite Monsal Dale. Please access via the main entrance and take the stairs, and at the top go through the door and the piano room is at the end of the corridor on the left.
