The Graves Gallery is situated just above the Central Library in the city centre. It's home to a programme of temporary exhibitions for you to enjoy so if you have 30 minutes to spare or want to spend more time soaking up the atmosphere check it out! As an added bonus, students get 10% off in the café with a valid NUS card. - The Peace Gardens
The Peace Gardens are situated in the heart of the city centre and are a great place to chill out. The hustle and bustle of local retailers, from coffee shops to cocktail bars, sits alongside the tranquility of the water fountains. Why not take your books down and enjoy the sunshine! - Ruskin Gallery
The Ruskin collection explores all things nature, from pebbles to birds. Its new home is now within the Millennium Galleries and it is definitely not one to miss. The collection changes twice a year so you will never get bored of discovering something new. - Heeley City Farm
Open every day and not far to travel by bus, this farm is a great escape from the busy city centre. Admission is completely free and it's a great day out for everyone. There is an onsite café with home-cooked meals, so if you are craving your mum's cooking then this is the place for you! - Millennium Galleries
The Millennium Galleries are home to ever changing exhibitions and events. There is always something going on. If you would rather find a social space, why not check out their café for great coffee and cake! It's right in the city centre and not far to get to from anywhere. The Winter Gardens joins onto the Millennium Galleries and is an indoor haven for peace and quiet. With more than 2,500 plants from across the world, this large scale indoor greenhouse is always bursting at the seams with colour. - Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens are a great green space that can be used by the public. There's plenty of room for football and games. The gardens are also home to regular events so check out their webpage to find out what's going on now. - Stanage Edge
Stanage Edge is not far from here at all, on the moors north of Hathersage. For keen walkers this is a great day out, stretching for approximately 3.5 miles in total to the southern point near Cowper Stone. - Weston Park & Museum
Right on your doorstep, Weston Park is an award-winning, family friendly museum. The museum is surrounded by amazing gardens and green park space for everyone to enjoy, so why not take a picnic down? Alongside Snowy the Polar Bear and Spike the Woolly Rhino, Weston Park also has a series of ever-changing exhibitions so there is truly something for everyone here! This is another one for those who like to be outdoors. Rivelin Valley is around 2.5 miles long so it's easy enough for everyone to enjoy. There are regular activities and events for groups to join so check out their webpage for up-to-date information.
