How to Contact Security
As a student, there has never been a moment where I've felt unsafe on campus. Security is so incredibly prompt and friendly, helping students in every situation possible.
There are several ways to get in touch.
SafeZone App
The SafeZone app allows you to contact security with just a click of a button.
The app gives you options to call for security, first aid or emergency services. On the top left, there is also an option to report a tip for non-emergency services.
Emergencies on Campus or University-Owned Buildings
Apart from the app, calling security on 01225 383999 is the easiest way to reach them.
You can also always find them at the Library.
Security is available round the clock, not just for emergencies but for reasons such as:
- Welfare - if you're in need of mental health help, security always lends a hand.
- Lock Outs - I'm so guilty of forgetting my keys or access card in my room! Security has your back if you've been locked out of your room.
Other Emergencies
For emergencies off-campus, always dial 999.
I recommend saving these numbers in your phone now. Hopefully you'll never need to use it, but you never know when it may come in handy.
Find out what out Security team does to make your time at the University as safe as possible by visiting the Safety and security page on the University website.
