Exploring Bath and beyond with ResLife Events

By ResLifeKatie 24 Oct 2023

It’s been a month full of events to welcome you to Bath here in ResLife, but some of our highlights have come from getting students out of the university and exploring the local area.

ResLife Ambassadors have been getting students out and about these past few weeks, exploring more of both the local city and places further afield.

Trip to Frome Market

At the end of arrivals week, ResLife Ambassadors took the train with students to visit the town of Frome and its independent market. This award-winning market includes food, drinks, crafts and collectables from across the Southwest, as well as live music and plenty of shops and stalls to explore. Students got to enjoy it all and soak in the atmosphere before heading back to Bath with their market-finds.

City Treasure Hunt

Our treasure hunt was a fun way for students to get to know Bath city centre better, with 6 clues leading them past some of the most famous landmarks: including Bath Abbey, The Holburne Museum and The Circus. Groups raced against one another to solve riddles and find their next location, before unscrambling a final clue to reach the last destination.

Alexandra Park Walk

ResLife Ambassadors took students on a guided walk up to Alexandra Park to take in the great views, before heading back down to Boston Tea Party where a well-earned cream tea was waiting for them. They enjoyed good weather and even spotted some hot air balloons along their way.

Day Trip to Wells

Students went by bus to visit the picturesque City of Wells, for a full day of sight seeing with ResLife Ambassadors. They visited the cathedral and the historic Vicars Close (the only complete medieval street left in England), before taking a tour of the Bishops Palace and Gardens. There was also a chance to explore the local market to find some food for a late lunch before heading home.
