How to be organised: Tips from a final year student
Buying fancy notebooks, cute stationery and neon post-it notes might make you feel more organised but actually being organised is a skill!
Here are my 5 top tips for being more organised at uni...
1. Get a diary
Using a diary or a planner is the best way to plan out your time so you can make sure you get everything done when it needs to be done. Buying a diary doesn’t have to cost you a fortune, you can print out calendar pages online. Just write everything down, track your week and this way you’ll get everything done.
2. Print out your lecture notes
Before the lecture print out your notes, take them to lecture and annotate them. This way, you’re only writing the additional information said, you won’t miss anything and you will have all the notes on that topic in the same place. This will also save you time.
3. Use folders
Get a folder for each of your units and store your lecture notes and summary notes all in one place. When you come to revise you will thank yourself!
4. Make a to-do list
Make a to-do list at the start of every day so you can keep on track and don’t forget anything. Tip: take post it notes wherever you go so you can write down everything you need to remember!
5. Don’t leave anything to the last minute
If you have something to do, start early and get it done so you can spend the rest of your time on other things. If you get it out the way you can focus on other assignments, tasks and you’ll have more time for yourself!
