How To Report a Maintenance Issue

By HWResLife 27 Feb 2024

Our maintenance and housekeeping staff help us to keep the facilities well maintained. Help us by reporting any maintenance defects in your room as well as in the shared areas.

The QR Code

There is a very handy QR code on the wall in your kitchen. If you notice any maintenance issues in your room or kitchen, please scan the QR code and make a report of the problem. Once the report is logged, Estates maintenance aim to attend within 5 working days to address the issue.

The maintenance team working hours are 09:00-16:00, Monday to Friday, and 09:00-11:00 on a Saturday.

Emergency vs Non-Emergency

Urgent Maintenance Issues

Urgent, or emergency maintenance issues include anything that poses a threat to your physical well-being or security. These include:

-Complete loss of power (must include lights).
-Major leaks.
-Severe flooding.
-Loss of heating during cold weather.
-Security issues: broken doors/windows/locks.
-Fire safety concerns.

Please contact Safeguarding or ResLife in the event of any emergency maintenance issue!

Non-Urgent maintenance Issues

Any maintenance issue that does not immediately threaten your security or physical health is classed as non-urgent. These include:

-Partial loss of power (tripped fuse, sockets not working).
-Drainage blockages.
-Minor leaks.
-Broken hob/oven.
-Kitchen appliances not working.

Please note, although a broken fridge/freezer is not considered an urgent maintenance issue, the team will respond to a broken fridge/freezer by the next working day, so your food doesn’t spoil!

For any non-urgent maintenance issues, please scan the QR code!
