How to Dispose of Your Waste
All kitchens come equipped with the following bins:
- Blue - General Waste
- Green - Recycling
- Food Caddy - Food Waste
What Items can I recycle?
The following items are safe to recycle:
- Unshredded paper, card and flattened cardboard boxes
- Plastic bottles (please squash and keep plastic lids on)
- Plastic pots, tubs and trays and containers
- Food and drink cartons (please squash and keep plastic lids on)
- Tetra Paks (please squash and keep plastic lids on)
- Aluminium and steel tins and cans
What Items can't be recycled?
- food waste
- garden waste
- plastic wrappers
- shredded paper
- food-soiled packaging
- polystyrene
- foil
- paper towels
- plastic bags/bin bags
- textiles, clothes or shoes
- aerosol cans
Food Waste
Food waste should go in your food caddy in your kitchen.
You will not be provided with bags for the food caddy, you will have to purchase these yourself.
If you choose not to use a bag in your food caddy, you must clean out your caddy regularly.
Glass Waste
Glass waste should be taken to the clearly marked glass bins outside your accomodation building.
It is really important that you dispose of your waste correctly for the sake of the environment!
