What is Umm Ali?
Umm Ali is a dessert from Egypt which literally means “Mother of Ali”. The dish is believed to be named after the chef who first prepared it and had a son named Ali. Each household and region have their own recipe for this dish but this is mine.
Here's a five ingredient, no bake recipe which is quick and delicious.
Ingredients
• Mini croissants (4 numbers)
• Milk (1&1/2 cups)
• Sweetened Condensed Milk (4 tablespoon)
• Vanilla Essence (1/2 teaspoon)
• Nuts of Choice (a handful)
Method
1️⃣ Slice the mini croissants and pan toast them till crispy.
2️⃣ Stir continuously and boil the milk mixed with sweetened condensed milk and vanilla essence.
3️⃣ Crush the nuts roughly.
4️⃣ Layer a cup with the toasted croissant slices, then pour the milk mixture to soak over it and garnish with crushed nut; repeat the same to create more layers as desired.
5️⃣ Can be consumed as it is or bake/microwave to achieve desired consistency.
Hope you find it yummy !!!
