Glaswegian tunes and vintage venues
Fancy a night out with a little bit of live music? I can honestly say that Glasgow has an astonishingly vibrant music scene........
Whether you're in it for calming, meditative tunes or a concert with a bass that radiates through you there will always be something.
King Tut's Wah Wah Hut is a personal favourite of mine, it's small but extremely cosy. If you feel like dropping in on a whim to see someone you haven't even heard of, then I highly recommend this little venue. The atmosphere is quite something, you'll never want to enter one of those colossal arenas ever again, I promise you.
I can't stress how beautiful a Mono evening is, it's imperative that you check it out this term! It's a mish mash of wonderful things in one tiny space. Not only is the food great (vegan and vegetarian friendly too) but there's also a record shop tucked in the back. Did I mention that it's also a lovely bar? No? If you're looking for a calm evening and a snug atmosphere this is definitely one to check out.
Also, there's a vintage shop right next to Mono called Mr Ben if you're into rooting through rails of clothing to find something unusual. I wouldn't say it's the best vintage shop, it's a bit pricey, but it's well worth a little look. If you're a vintage clothes shopper then I'd recommend the Glasgow Vintage Company instead. The clothes smell quite a bit better and the stock is far superior in my opinion. They also have quite a cool instagram.
Alternatively, if it's a night out that you're looking for then I suggest heading to Box on Sauchiehall Street. It's a great way to see any new/up and coming bands in the area. The atmosphere is great, as it's a bar and a music venue in one. They also have rather comfy booths to sit in (because let's be honest who wants to stand up all evening). If clubbing isn't your cup of tea then head down here, I guarantee it will be a top night.
Happy bar hopping/music venue snooping!
