A day of fun at the North Somerset Show 2024 with friends by Rali Fileva, Student Life Assistant 2023~2024

Imagine leaving behind the busy university life for a day and stepping into a lively countryside event. That's what the Student Life Team did with a group of 16 students when we headed to The North Somerset Show 2024. It's a big festival celebrating rural life, and we were excited to explore it together.

Tasty smells everywhere

No agricultural show would be complete without food stalls with local culinary offerings and The North Somerset Show did not disappoint. From delicious cheese and freshly baked pastries to gourmet sausages and meat. There was a selection of craft ales and ciders brewed by local artisans. And the best thing is you could sample everything!

Making new furry friends

Our group was a mix of different cultural backgrounds and for some of us being so close to farm animals was a new experience. There were horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, alpacas. It was cool seeing animals up close and learning about them from the farmers. We even got to pet them and take pictures with them!

Lots of interesting things to see

The show had so much to offer. We got to watch sheep shearing, show jumping and livestock competitions. We also wandered around stalls selling handmade stuff like wooden carvings and pottery. There was also a Ferris wheel and other fun attractions.

The best part?  hanging out together

But the highlight of the day was just being together!  We had so much fun while taking a break from the city life for a day, we felt happy we'd made some great memories.

Saying Goodbye, but looking forward

We felt a bit sad leaving the show knowing it was over. But we knew we'd always remember the fun we had shared and looked forward to more adventures together in the future.
