In the Easter holidays, we got a train from Manchester to Glasgow during the week. It only cost £14 per person and took 3 hours, the train traveled through some lovely countryside which I caught on my camera.
Fortunately, the weather was nice when we arrived and it was lovely to just walk around and explore, summer would be a great time to go traveling around the UK, especially whilst studies have finished. We spent one day in Glasgow so first we visited the University of Glasgow and the buildings were amazing. After we walked around the city centre we reached Glasgow Necropolis, this is where the Return of Batman was filmed which students love! For dinner we tried the famous pizza at Paesano, they were delicious and I would highly recommend it.
After a day in Glasgow, we then traveled to Edinburgh in the evening via a bus which cost £5, once we got there we booked a small one-day trip to the Highlands, Loch Ness, and Glen Coe costing £47 per person. I tried trekking through Glen Coe for the first time and I really enjoyed it!
Loch (meaning lake) Ness - a sea monster named Ness is believed to live underwater here.
The next day we visited the Museum of Scotland which was really interesting, after we went and grabbed some food from Makars Gourmet Mash Bar which we got for free! From here we took the subway to Edinburgh train station to travel back to Manchester which cost £50 per person.
Overall the trip was amazing and it's a great chance to explore the UK and what it has to offer!

Top tip:
Plan and book things in advance, normally then it costs cheaper and you'll have a set plan of the activities you're going to do.
