Special events and competitions – Amplify competition – styles you’d hear on the Radio 1 Xtra playlist (e.g. Hip-hop, RnB, Drum and Bass, UK Garage, Grime, Dubstep). We are looking for the best completely original track created by UWE students. It may be instrumental or have vocals, but if instrumental it needs to feel complete without the vocal i.e., not just a backing track for an MC.
Battle of the Bands – our annual competition held in the SU at Christmas. Bands and solo performers perform 1 or 2 tracks to be in with a chance to win a recording session at Peter Gabriel’s Real World studio in Bath. In 2023, the competition will be judged by James Threlfall of BBC Introducing!
