If you’re a bakery lover, you’re in luck as Liverpool is home to plenty of local businesses that sell some of the best pastries, cakes and sweet treats.
Here’s just some of the places you can get your hands on some of the best sweet and savoury favourites near to campus halls and Greenbank…
Let’s start with city centre venues...
Rough Hand Made, Albert Dock
Be sure to pay a visit to Rough Hand Made for a giant pastry next time you're in the Albert Dock. Not only do they sell huge, freshly made pastries but they also have dog competitions! If your family pet ever comes to visit Liverpool, be sure to enter them their pup competition!
Italian Club Bakery, Duke Street
Selling authentic pastries and breads, Italian Club Bakery offers a cosy space to enjoy a delicious sweet treat that you can sit in with or takeaway!
Sugar and Dice, Liverpool One
Cake and a board game, name a better combo! Sugar and Dice is Liverpool's original board game café so if you're looking for somewhere to spend a rainy afternoon, this is your place!
Baltic Bakehouse, Bridgewater Street
An independent bakery in the city centre and on Allerton Road (for Greenbank students) that offers what looks like the biggest pastries of all time. Another one to add to the list!

Fear not, Greenbank is just a stones throw away from some of Liverpool’s most popular bakeries too. Even if you’re living in city centre halls, these venues are well worth a visit.
Doogles Donuts, Lark Lane
You can't go wrong with a donut filled with your favourite toppings! Plus a £4 coffee and donut deal sounds a treat. You can find Doogle Donuts on Lark Lane near Sefton Park (but they also have a store on Mann Island near the docks too).
Lunko Liverpool, just off Lark Lane
Serving Butterholic pastries (the name says it all), this Lark Lane gem is a little hidden but well worth discovering. Just be sure to get there handy to beat the queues!
Freida Mos, Lark Lane
This well-known Lark Lane shop combines vintage fashion and delicious cakes, many of which are vegan and gluten free! If you fancy picking up a freshly made sweet treat while browsing this boutique, Freida Mo's is your place to go!
Desserts by Dre, Penny Lane
If you haven't been for a stroll down the famous Penny Lane then this is your sign! Desserts by Dre is home to so many delicious cakes, bakes, pastries and treats. It's definitely one to tick off your Liverpool bucket list!
