Places to check out around our halls
Our student halls at Coventry are all well located , close to our campus and to a range of places for you to discover!
Godiva Place is 4 minutes walk away from Coventry University library, Lanchester Library. Close to this accommodation we have one of the most historic streets of Coventry, Gosford Street.
In Gosford street you can find a range of barbers, international supermarkets and restaurants. One of our students' favourite place is the Chinese Kitchen. 5 minutes walk from Godiva, still at Gosford Street, we have the famous Fargo Village. Fargo hosts events such as fairs, kilo sales, exhibitions, and much more!
Just across the street from Godiva you find a local Sainsbury's where you can do your grocery shopping. If you fancy a small walk, the biggest Sainsbury is located a 10 minute walk away.
Located 19 minutes away, you can find a beautiful park "Gosford Green". During sunny days , it's usually packed with students and families. It's a lovely place to go for a walk , a picnic or just to sit and read a book!
Godiva is roughly 15 minutes walk away from the city centre, where you can find most shops, restaurants, banks and places to have a fun night out with friends such as Boom Battle Bar.
Very close to Godiva, we have Cycle Works. Cycle Works is 9 minutes walk away from Coventry University library, Lanchester Library. It's a very close walk , 6 minutes, to the main university social space, the HUB. In the HUB you can find a variety of events, coffee shops and affordable places to have food at the Courtyard. You also have the Students' Union located there as well as the medical centre. Close to Cycle Works you can find places like Starbucks and Pizza Hut.
The bus station is also located at a very friendly walking distance, 7 minutes away.
You can do grocery shopping at a local Coop and the big Sainsbury's.
The city centre is only 9 minutes away. There you can find places to grab a bite like Five Guys, beautiful places to go out for drinks such as The Botanist, England's favourite: Nando's restaurant and places to have delicious desserts like Dolci. Highly recommend trying Jinseon Korean BBQ Restaurant!
If you would like to go for a night out, you can find Kasbah Nightlclub , only 5 minutes away.
On a sunny day, you can take a walk to Swanswell Park and spend a lovely afternoon there. Just next to the park you also have Creams Coventry.
Lastly we have Bishop Gate. Bishop Gate is very close to the Canal Basin, a beautiful place to go for walks and with international stores such as a Portuguese grocery store. You can also find Lady Herbert's Gardens, a beautiful park with historical gates.
Just a minute away you can find a Tesco Express, where you can do your weekly groceries!
Bishop Gate is very close to the city centre. You'll find streets full of restaurants like McDonald's , KFC, Oodles, Royal Cha and a variety of shops.
Just 4 minutes away, you can find the Coventry Transport Museum , we definitely recommend that you check it out! It explains Coventry's importance to the transport industry and you can even see some Jaguar cars.
The HUB, the heart of the student life, is a 9 minute walk from Bishop Gate.
