We've all been there. Stressed, overwhelmed, and did not know what to do first.

How to balance university, a part-time job, and ideally some social life too?

Here are some amazing tips that help me to keep sane with all the plans I want to do and get them done.

  • Stay organised.

Keep a planner of when your lectures are as well as your free time activities. Plan ahead: how much time do you want to spend on writing notes or doing an assignment. This will help you with time management. Maybe your guess is less time than how much it actually took you which can be disappointing but after some time you'll get better at organising your time. Besides, you will keep the plans in the back of your mind if you have them written somewhere.

  • Set priorities.

School comes first, then your part-time job (if you have one), and then anything else. There are many societies and sports clubs out there, but you can't do everything. You will need to learn how to say no to your friends when you have important work to do. It's essential to decide what you want to focus on because it's easy to overwork. You can write these down and come back to them later when you're feeling overwhelmed.

  • Get some fresh air.

Both your physical and mental health will benefit from it. Stand a bit, you don't need to walk extensively or do exercise. This definitely kicks your creativity and energy levels up!

  • Rest actively.

It will make you feel better, I promise. It's nice to watch a series or a film sometimes but these activities will make you have more energy, and you will feel more productive too. Going to the gym, reading a book, or going for a walk could be a perfect way to start your productive day.

  • Get enough sleep and food!

Last but not least. It could sound like a no-brainer, but with all the staff on your mind, you might overlook it or simply not give it much thought. Your mental and physical well-being are closely related and are very important. If you are ill, you can't get your uni work done, so take care of yourself.
