Accommodation
My Uni Hall Experience
Although University Hall is the second biggest accommodation, it's probably the prettiest and quietest site. It's also squirrel friendly - nuts are your bridge to becoming good friends!
There are different room options you can choose here at Uni Hall, en-suite or shared bathroom. A bonus for living at Uni Hall is that we have large kitchens, big enough to celebrate birthdays, Christmas or New Year with your flatmates.
There are outdoor, multi-use games areas on site, including tennis, netball and basketball areas. You will also find 'the Lounge' on site; a large social space with pool tables, playstations and a movie projector for you to use. This is a great space to study or relax with your friends after a long day at uni! You will also find the Residence Life Team here running regular events such as coffee lounges and board game nights where you can grab yourself a free hot drink and snack!
Although Uni Hall is a little further from Cathays Park campus and Heath Park campus, there is a free uni bus that can take you to both every hour Monday - Friday. All you need to do is show your Residences card! This bus will also take you directly into town and stops outside Park Place, perfect for visiting the SU or the Centre for Student Life building.
If you're lucky enough to live there, Uni Hall has a Tower building which has spectacular views across the whole of Cardiff. If you walk 10 minutes down the hill, there is the very beautiful Roath Park which has lots of swans, geese, ducks and many beautiful roses. There is a café next to the lake where, on a sunny day, you can have a coffee and cake whilst watching the swans - it's such an enjoyable time!
There are many restaurants on Wellfield Rd and Albany Rd which is about a 15-20 minute walk away. Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Iceland etc. all can be found there, which is very convenient!
