Where to park when you arrive at halls

By UALHalls 21 Aug 2023

Check out the parking requirements for your hall bellow:

Archwood House

If you are arriving by car, you must not park on Peckham Hill Street directly outside the front entrance due to the bus stop, zebra crossing and double yellow lines. There is no parking on site at Archwood House. There will be limited drop off spots on Bonar Road. Look out for UAL staff at the south end of the road, here you will be able to unload your vehicle and sign out a trolley. Once your items have been unloaded, we ask that you move your vehicle immediately to allow space for the next car to unload. We strongly recommend accessing Bonar Road from Commercial Way to help the traffic flow in one direction. There will be porters who will be able to assist with moving trolleys.

There is a free to use carpark in Peckham Town centre, as well as free on street parking on Commercial Way. Many of the roads in the local area are free to park on Saturday and Sunday such as Sumner Road, Lisford St. and Furley Road.

Brooke Hall

There is car parking in Brooke Hall however you will only be able to bring your car into the hall to drop off only. If you wish to stay you will need to find street parking nearby.

Cordwainers Court

If you are arriving during peak hours then please expect a wait for spaces to become available. On arrival the student should go to the office to sign in whilst parents wait in the car. Staff will then give instructions on where to park for unloading. Limited parking is available at the hall but for unloading only. If you are unloading outside your designated block, you can park on the double yellow lines but not on the pavement.  Ensure that one person always stays with the car. Once you have got your luggage out of the car, we ask that you move your car immediately, especially if you are unloading in the courtyard next to A block. Please be aware that traffic wardens patrol the area. Alternative metered parking is available in the local area.

Emily Bowes Court

Situated in the grounds of Hale Village, parking near Emily Bowes Court is limited. During the check in we will have drop off stations. Here they will have the chance to unload their belongings from their vehicle. Students staying in the main Portland building will also have car access and will also have their names taken at the gate to confirm that they are in the correct place before being granted access to unload their belongings.
